India had developed her own peculiar
art and her master craft-men's work flourished remarkably under court
patronage and private munificence. The remains of ancient buildings bear
eloquent testimony to the artistic skill of Rajasthani Craftsmen of
pre-British days. These Rajasthani Craftsmen modified the technique of
the art to suit their monotheistic tendencies and consequently we find in
the palaces of Emperors a great deal of decorative information.
"KAMDAR art is inherently decorative
and one is struck by the great variety of styles in wood carving.
The furniture and other wooden articles, obviously are
creations of KAMDAR COMPANY situated in Barmer (Rajasthan)
India, which satisfies curious blending of Hindu, Muslim &
Christian traditions. We also deal in Handicraft, Handmade
Carving and Carved Furniture. The ornamental
work of timber has a character of its own, bold and striking, rather then
minute and delicate, that may bear comparison with similar pattern of
Hindu & Jain Temples.
"KAMDAR" shows the extreme limit in florid magnificence to which the
carving style advanced. Suffice is to say that one is struck by the great
variety of styles in wood carving.
